After retiring from my leadership position in local government providing strategic communications, I founded Guthrie Communications, LLC but then ran for office. I put the communications career on hold but never lost sight of the value and importance in maintaining social relationships. After all, I was labeled a social butterfly in High School!

 

That paid off in winning for office and going back to serving the community I love for four years. It put a hold on Guthrie Communications but not on traveling with my husband, traveling to see family, and going on long day hikes. As a young professional and single mom of two, it took a village for me to get to where my career took me and where I am today.

 

I worked my way up from an intern to being the first Communications Director, Brand Manager, Marketing and Social Media Manager to then getting elected. Fitting in self care, I packed my bags seeking adventures and respite to unwind on weekends and recharge for the week. My husband travels on weekends for work and so I would also tag along with him giving us time to spend together and claim the weekends.
